''Ömer the Tourist'' () is a 1964 Turkish comedy film directed by Hulki Saner. Plot Turist Ömer, a poor man, gets a job handing out fake money for an advertisement. By mistake, he takes a bag of real money from thieves. He spends it helping his friends while the thieves chase him. Hulki Saner (14 February 1923 – 20 July 2005) was a Turkish film director, screenwriter and producer. He contributed to more than one hundred films from 1957 to 1987 and is known for directing the Turist Ömer Turist Ömer or Ömer the Tourist is a recurring character in a series of comic films made in Turkey between 1964 and 1973. Sadri Alışık (born Mehmet Sadrettin Alışık; 5 April 1925 – 18 March 1995) was a Turkish stage and movie actor, and one of the most loved comedians in Turkey. He was the husband of Çolpan İlhan. Biography He was a prolific actor, appearing in popular cinema and television. His movies often depicted poor, uneducated people of society, who were nevertheless happy and yet still believed in love. His most notable works were filmed during the 1960s and 1970s. His series of comedic movies titled "''Turist Ömer''" were also popular. He also had a leading role in the widely viewed Turkish television series, "''Kartallar Yüksek Uçar''". Sadri Alışık and his cinema partner Ayhan Işık studied at picture department of Fine Art State Academy. Çolpan İlhan (8 August 1936 – 25 July 2014) was a Turkish cinema and theatre actress. In 1998 she was awarded the title of State Artist of Turkey. She acted in more than 300 films and theater plays. First years İlhan received her secondary education at Istanbul Kandilli High School for Girls. Later she studied theater at İstanbul Municipal Drama School and painting at State Academy of Istanbul for Fine Arts. With her fellow students from the Academy, she later formed an amateur theater group called "Akademi Tiyatrosu (Academy Theater)" and prepared plays and dramas.
