The Icelandic Music Awards () are the official annual music awards given in Iceland to commemorate the musical achievements of the year. The award was established in 1993 with an annual rock award given by the Fテゥlag テュslenskra hljテウmlistarmanna (Fテ工) (''Union of Icelandic Musicians''); since then, it has developed into a multi-category event held usually in January or February for awards of the previous year. Since 2002, the event has been sponsored by the Icelandic Music Association known as ''Samtテウnn''. Kaleo (stylized as KALEO) is an Icelandic blues rock band which formed in Mosfellsbテヲr in 2012. It consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Jテカkull Jテコlテュusson, drummer Davテュテー Antonsson, bassist Daniel Kristjテ。nsson, lead guitarist Rubin Pollock and harmonicist テ柞rleifur Gaukur Davテュテーsson. Agent Fresco
Agent Fresco are an Icelandic band that combines pop, alternative, art, and math rock. They formed in 2008, just weeks prior to winning the Mテコsテュktilraunir. Their first release was the EP ''Lightbulb Universe'', which won at the Kraumur Awards. The lead singer is Arnテウr Dan Arnarson. Vignir Rafn Hilmarsson plays bass guitar as well as the electric upright bass, Hrafnkell テ睦n Guテーjテウnsson plays the drums, and テ榲ウrarinn Guテーnason plays the guitar and piano/keyboards. Danテュel Bjarnason
Danテュel Bjarnason (born 26 February 1979) is an Icelandic composer and conductor. He has garnered widespread acclaim for his debut album, ''Processions'' (2010), with TimeOut NY writing he "create(s) a sound that comes eerily close to defining classical music's undefinable brave new world". Life and career Born on 26 February 1979, Danテュel studied composition, piano and conducting in Reykjavik, before going on to further study orchestral conducting at the Hochschule fテシr Musik Freiburg. He has had a number of works commissioned and debuted by Los Angeles Philharmonic. Danテュel is currently composer-in-residence at the Muziekgebouw Frits Philips, Eindhoven, Netherlands and was artist-in-residence with Iceland Symphony Orchestra from 2015 to 2018. ADHD (band)
ADHD is an Icelandic band formed in 2007 known for their instrumental music, influenced by jazz and rock. Its manager is Jom Lofty. Formation The band was formed to perform at the Hテカfn テュ Hornafirテーi blues-festival in 2007 and as the collaboration was successful the band decided to keep on performing. Their first album, ''ADHD'' was recorded and published in 2009 and won the title Icelandic Jazz Album of the Year at the Icelandic Music Awards. The Iceland Symphony is an autonomous public institution under the auspices of the Icelandic Ministry of Education. Valdimar is an Icelandic indie pop band that was established in 2009 as a duo by Valdimar Guテーmundsson and テ《geir Aテーalsteinsson, both originating from Keflavik, Iceland. Jテコnテュus Meyvant is the stage name and musical project of Unnar Gテュsli Sigurmundsson, an Icelandic singer-songwriter. NPR Music described his style as "soul-stirring melodies from way up north" in discussing his 2014 single, "Color Decay." That year, KEXP-FM, a Seattle radio station, named the single a song of the day. Meyvant performs internationally, playing his first New York City show in 2017. Svavar Pテゥtur Eysteinsson (26 April 1977 窶 29 September 2022), better known by his stage name Prins Pテウlテウ, was an Icelandic singer-songwriter and experimental artist. He was also part of the Icelandic band Skakkamanage. Skakkamanage Svavar Pテゥtur Eysteinsson started his career in the mid-2000s when he developed the alternative rock band Skakkamanage that released three albums: ''Lab of Love'' in 2006, followed by ''All Over The Face'' in 2008.
