1999 Lok Sabha Elections

This was the most traumatic as well as strange year in her life. She lost her husband in Indo-Pakistan Kargil conflict. Therefore she got a job as lecturer under preferential quota for war widows. Bhartiya Janta Party made her a candidate from Mahendragarh constituency for the election to Lok Sabha in 1999. This was the first election she ever fought. It successfully transformed her from a simple housewife to a successful politician who defeated a well-known veteran lifelong politician. However she could not win the elections in 2004 and 2009. She graduated in 1987 from University of Roorkee (now IIT Roorkee).
