Career

Tripathi grew up in India and came to the United States in 1978. He was a faculty member for many years at the
University of Maryland The University of Maryland, College Park (University of Maryland, UMD, or simply Maryland) is a public land-grant research university in College Park, Maryland. Founded in 1856, UMD is the flagship institution of the University System of M ...
where he also served as department chair of the Computer Science department. During his tenure as UB provost, he secured important partnerships in India. He has made scholarly contributions to the field of computer science and is an author or co-author on more than 200 papers. He serves as the first international-born president of the University at Buffalo.


Civic and professional involvement
