It is located in the Silesian Voivodeship, in a basin between the Vistula and Oder rivers, sited on the Rybnik Plateau ( pl|Płaskowyż Rybnicki) between Katowice (Upper-Silesian Metropolis) to the north and Ostrava on the south-west.
