History

1995–2011

Kyle Busch made his first NASCAR Truck series start in the 2001 edition of the race at the age of 16. In 2011 Ross Chastain had his first Truck Series start at that years version of the race.

2022–present

On December 10, 2021, TSport, a company co-owned by Southern Off-Road Specialists as well as Truck Series team ThorSport Racing, was announced as the race's title sponsor in its return in 2022.
