Size

The 100 meter (328 feet) tall structure is 500 by 400 m (1,640 by 1,312 ft) in size with 1,700,000 square meters (nearly 18,300,000 square feet) of floor space, making it the world's largest building measured by floor space.


Development

The centerpiece of the building is a water park ("Paradise Island Water Park"), containing a 5,000 square meter (nearly 54,000 square foot) artificial beach, where a giant 150 by 40 meter (492 by 131 feet) screen forms the horizon to offer sunrises and sunsets. Although parts of the shopping area opened in early 2013, the center was supposed to have formally opened in March 2013 when it hosted the Global Fortune 500 conference. However, the businessman behind the project, Deng Hong, was arrested on
