Endemic fauna of the Western Ghats

As of 2000, Amarambalam comprises almost all mammals found in the Western Ghats: 25 mammals, including the endemic and threatened Lion-tailed macaque ('' Macaca silenus'') and Nilgiri tahr ('' Hemitragus hylocrius'').
