History[edit] The Foundation for Advancement of Science and Technology (FAST) was founded and established by BCCI financier Hasan Abidi which provided a large financial capital for the university to promote research in computer sciences and emerging technologies in 1980.FAST later established National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences

It is Pakistan's most successful student-run technology-centric mega event, and has received tremendous recognition over the decade from Pakistan's leading media powerhouses including Express News, Dawn, The News, Geo, ARY, and many others. The event comprises computer science, engineering and business competition. Teams from all over the country participate. There are also entertainment events.[38][39] NUTEC[edit] NUTEC is a 3-day event, started in 2009 but ceasing after 2014.
