Matanawi (''Matanauí, Mitandua, Moutoniway'') was a divergent Amazonian language that appears to be distantly related to the Muran languages
. It was originally spoken on the Castanha River
and Madeirinha River
The only existing word list for Matanawi is that of Curt Nimuendajú
