Ciobotariu debuted in Divizia A with Progresul București in 1992.


International career

Ciobotariu made his debut for the Romanian national team in 1997 against Macedonia, and represented his country at the 1998 FIFA World Cup and

Ciobotariu retired in 2005 and began to coach in 2006. Between July 2011 and April 2012, he was the manager of
