Little Wormwood Scrubs was originally part of
Wormwood Scrubs Wormwood Scrubs, known locally as The Scrubs (or simply Scrubs), is an open space in Old Oak Common located in the north-eastern corner of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham in west London. It is the largest open space in the borough, ...
, and separated from it in the 1840s when the railway embankment of the West London line was built. In 1870, the northwest part of the land was exchanged for land to the south east;
