worked at Verre before moving back to London to The Connaught and Maze respectively. Atherton left to open his own restaurant, and Hartnett purchased Murano from Ramsay in 2010. Wareing was made head chef of London based restaurant, Pétrus. It went on to win two Michelin stars, but in 2008 the two chefs fell out when Wareing kept the restaurant premises and the stars, while Ramsay received rights to the name. The restaurant was renamed Marcus Wareing at the Berkeley, while in 2010 the new Pétrus by Gordon Ramsay was opened.

Ramsay has also sought to create other fine-dining restaurant chains (such as Gordon Ramsay Steak and the now-defunct Maze), as well as casual dining restaurants, both singly (as in The Fat Cow or Opal) and in chains (such as Street Pizza, Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips, and the now-defunct Maze Grill). Ramsay plans for UK expansion between 2021 and 2025 to reach 50 additional sites. Additionally, his restaurant group looks to open 200 locations across Asia during the same five year period. To fund the growth of his American restaurant business, in June 2019 Ramsay struck a five-year investment deal with Lion Capital LLP
