She is an alumna of the University of California, Berkeley, and attended NYU for graduate school. Idil has worked on and produced award-winning film projects filmed in Cuba, Serbia, Japan, Turkey, Somalia, Lebanon, Zambia, Kenya, Senegal and Uganda.
