George Edward Lounsbury (May 7, 1838 – August 16, 1904) was an American politician and the 58th Governor of Connecticut from 1899 to 1901.

and graduated in 1866. He partnered with his brothers,

Politics

Lounsbury was a member of the Connecticut Senate representing the 12th District from 1894 to 1898. He became the Governor of Connecticut on January 4, 1899 after winning the

Lounsbury married Frances Josephine Potwin. He also was an
