as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2016. He was waived on September 3, 2016 and was signed to the practice squad the next day. He was promoted to the active roster on December 8, 2016. He scored his first career NFL touchdown in Week 17 against the Buffalo Bills, recovering a kickoff in the endzone. On August 16, 2017, Middleton was waived/injured by the Jets after suffering a torn pectoral and placed on injured reserve. Middleton entered the 2018 season slated as the backup free safety to
