History
The North Cachar Hills Autonomous District Council was created on April 29, 1952, under Article 244(2) of the
Sixth Schedule to the Constitution of India. Later it was recognized as an autonomous council. In 2022, the name of the Council was changed to Dima Hasao Autonomous Council.
