The median age was 53.5 years (compared with 37.4 years nationally), with 24 people (13.6%) aged under 15 years, 27 (15.3%) aged 15 to 29, 96 (54.2%) aged 30 to 64, and 33 (18.6%) aged 65 or older. Ethnicities were 94.9% European/Pākehā, 6.8% Māori, 1.7% Asian, and 1.7% other ethnicities (totals add to more than 100% since people could identify with multiple ethnicities). Although some people objected to giving their religion, 59.3% had no religion, 30.5% were Christian and 3.4% had other religions. Of those at least 15 years old, 84 (54.9%) people had a bachelor or higher degree, and 18 (11.8%) people had no formal qualifications. The median income was $54,500, compared with $31,800 nationally.
