Brig has a population () of . Most of the population () speaks German (21,176 or 91.9%) as their first language, Italian is the second most common (434 or 1.9%) and French is the third (316 or 1.4%). There are 17 people who speak Romansh. , the gender distribution of the population was 48.5% male and 51.5% female.
