Bank of Athens in foreign nations

The name, "Bank of Athens" has been used in the branding of several banks in the US. The First National Bank of Athens arrived in Europe from the USA. It was merged with a small British private bank to form the "Gunners Bishop Bank of Athens". This bank operated as a British bank in the City of London (Fenchurch Street, London EC3). The Bank was Greece's representative bank in London from 1860 until 27 February 1953 when it became part of Barclays Bank PLC of London. A 1906 Act of Parliament had regulated the industrial and state banks in Britain giving Greece's representative banks an official status. When the World Trade Centre opened in London, the Bank of Athens was invited. Also in 1906, the Bank of Athens was absorbed by the International Credit Industry Banque de Grece, in France, becoming the bank's presence in Europe. This bank also did British Government business from 1908 as the "London Bankers". The bank opened a branch in Constantinople-Karakkoy in 1906, when the Banque D'Athenes worked with French Treasury, Basel II with Bourse de Paris and Constantinople. In 1930, the "Banque Nationale de Grece and d'Áthenes, France" was created via mergers and in 1932, it moved to London. In 1956, the First National Bank of Athens arrived in the US. As above, the South African Bank of Athens (known locally as "Bank of Athens"), operating since 1947. The Banque D Ahenes Tennessee branch of Bank of Athens FDIC2114/1866 made branch in Paris, France, via 1893 under the name of Banque D Athens-1893.Via 1906 same bank was merged with her State of Georia Bank of Athens FDIC2114.1866 branch from london with address 22 Fenchurch str. EC and formed-credit industry banquet de Grece. The last Bank branch in London worked with license of Gunners Bank from Bishop county Waltham-London merged in Barclays Bank H.O.Lombards Str. on 27.02.1953. Via 1896 year a Branch of NBG Central Branch for Greece 'NBG Contact Center' was registered in Company House UK as British Bank. In 1980 the name was changed with Company Act of Barclays Bank Plc # 48839/1896.In due of 1985 with Act of Parliament after a merged with International Banking the name was changed to Barclays Holding Company Plc but Company House Reg.# was survived to 00048839 since 1896.On 1993 Barclays Overseas France was merged with Barclays H.O.in London and became Barclays Corporate. Same bank which was via 1923 as shareholders at Cox&Kings Bank agents of British army in Paris.France was received the business of bankrupted Cox&Kings Bank sold British army shares in France.Via 1997 the bank changed name to Barclays Bank UK Plc and represented international financial business in the City UK and USA.Via this past time Bank of Athens-Gunners Bank were registered as London Bakers in Post Office Royal Mail Bank directory for City of London as London Bankers since 1908 year. Till this date London Bankers for this British business were represented for this old Bank of Athens FDIC 2114.1866 from London County and Westminster-Abbey Bank Ltd. The Bank of Athens FDIC 2114.1866 was opened a Branch in Trabson/Ottoman Empire via 19th century too.
