due to the building's affordable housing component. The tower was topped out in February 2018 and opened on March 15, 2019. By January 2019, approximately 60% of the building's units had been sold. In 2021, prospective low-income tenants of the building filed a lawsuit against Related. The suit alleges the company created a different address (553 West 30th Street) for 15 Hudson Yards' affordable units and that the tenants of those units would not have access to the same amenities as those in the market-rate units. The suit alleges the building does not have an actual " poor door" but does still segregate its tenants through a "poor address" and "poor floors". "Poor doors" were banned in 2015 by New York City mayor Bill de Blasio.
