Order Of The Throne
The Order of the Throne (Arabic: ''Wissam al-Arch'', French: ''Ordre du Trône'') is a state decoration of the Kingdom of Morocco awarded for distinguished services of a civil or military nature. The Order was instituted on 16 May 1963 by King Hassan II of Morocco, who reigned between 1961 and 1999. Classes The Order of the Throne is awarded in five classes, one exceptional and four ordinary classes : *''Exceptional Class'' or ''Grand Cordon'', who wears the badge on a sash on the right shoulder, plus the star on the left side of the chest. This class is limited to twenty recipients at any one time. The ordinary classes: *''First Class'' or ''Grand Officer'', who wears a badge on a necklet, plus a star on the left side of the chest. Princess Lalla Amina (8 April 1954 – 16 August 2012) was a member of the Moroccan royal family and former President of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Equestrian Sports. Early life and education Lalla Amina was born in Antsirabe, Madagascar on 8 April 1954. She was the youngest sister of the King Hassan II of Morocco, and daughter of King Mohammed V of Morocco and his third wife, Lalla Bahia bint Antar. She was born while the royal family was in exile. Mina (as she was nicknamed) was the only child of King Mohammed V of Morocco to have French papers. Upon the royal family's return to Morocco, Malika Oufkir, daughter of a favored general, was informally adopted into the Royal family to be a companion to the princess. Driss Benhima ( ar, إدريس بنهيمة; born 28 May 1954) is a Moroccan businessman. Former chairman of the board and CEO of Royal Air Maroc, the national airline of Morocco. Career Benhima joined Office Cherifien des Phosphates (OCP), Moroccan state-owned phosphate world leader, as a junior field engineer in Khouribga. After the first 6 years he spent there, he became Mining Facilities Manager. He was appointed in 1990 CEO of Casablanca-based Société Marocaine d'Oxygène et d' Acétylène, Moroccan subsidiary of Air Liquide group, world leader in industrial gases. On 19 March 1994, he was appointed CEO of Office National de l'Electricité (ONE), Morocco's national power authority. Amina Bouayach (born 10 December 1957) is a Moroccan human rights activist. Since December 2018, Bouayach has served as the president of the Moroccan National Human Rights Council. Prince Moulay Abdallah of Morocco, KCVO, (30 July 1935 – 20 December 1983) was the brother of Moulay Hassan, later King Hassan II of Morocco and the son of King Mohammed V of Morocco (1909–1961) and his second wife, Lalla Abla bint Tahar (1909–1992). Family On 9 November 1961, he married Lamia Solh, the daughter of Riad Solh, the first Prime Minister of Lebanon.
