Francis G. Neylon
Francis G. Neylon (3 July 1921 – 10 December 1983) was an Ireland, Irish Irish flute, flute player (concert flute, piccolo) of Irish traditional music. He was inducted into the Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann Hall of Fame for the Northeast Region of the North American Province on 19 February 2000. Francis G. "Frank" Neylon was born in Kilnaboy, County Clare, Ireland. He played the concert flute with the Kilfenora Ceili Band and also played on RTÉ Radio, Radio Éireann while in Ireland. He came to the United States in July, 1949 and settled first in Cambridge, MA, and then Somerville, MA. An accomplished Irish musician of the traditional school, self-taught and playing by ear, Neylon won many medals at Feis in Boston and New York City in the 1950s. While in the U.S., he played the concert flute with The Tara Ceili Band, The New State Ceili Band, The Connaught Ceili Band and Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann Hanafin-Cooley branch. Joe Derrane
Joe Derrane (March 16, 1930 - July 22, 2016) was an Irish-American button accordion player, known for re-popularizing the D/C# system diatonic button accordion. Life Derrane was born in Boston, Massachusetts to Irish immigrant parents. His father played the accordion and his mother the fiddle. At the age of 10, Derrane began playing a one-row diatonic button accordion or melodeon, taking lessons with Jerry O'Brien, an immigrant from Kinsale, County Cork, Ireland. By the age of 14 Derrane was performing at the thriving "kitchen rackets" (house parties) on the Boston Irish scene. He soon upgraded to a 2-row D/C# accordion (the standard "American Irish" tuning of the time), and by the age of 17 was a leading musician in the Irish dancehalls on Dudley Street, Roxbury. Paddy Cronin
Paddy Cronin (6 July 1925 – 15 March 2014) was an Irish fiddler. Cronin was born in Ré Buí near Gneeveguilla, County Kerry. He was taught fiddle by Padraig O'Keeffe. In 1949, Seamus Ennis recorded him on acetate disc for Radió Éireann. Later that year (1949), after making these recordings, he left Ireland and emigrated to Boston in the United States. During the 1950s, he continued to record, becoming very well known through the seven 78rpm discs he made for the Boston record label, Copley. In the early 1970s he went on to record an LP, "Music In The Glen", for the Fleetwood label, followed by "The House In The Glen" for Talcon. 1n 1975, Paddy released ''The Rakish Paddy'' LP with Fiddler Records of Seattle, and in 1977 released ''Kerry's Own Paddy Cronin'' with Outlet records of Belfast.
