Brave (web Browser)
Brave is a free and open-source web browser which was first released in 2016. It is developed by US-based Brave Software, Inc. and based on the Chromium (web browser), Chromium web browser. The browser is marketed as a privacy-focused web browser and includes features such as built-in Ad blocking, advertisment blocking, protections against Device fingerprint, browser fingerprinting and a private browsing mode that integrates the Tor (network), Tor anonymity network. Brave also incorporates its own advertising through a rewards system based on cryptocurrency, which allows users to earn Basic Attention Tokens (BAT) by opting-in to view ads served through its own ad network. While Brave has been praised for its privacy protections and features, it has faced criticism over early plans of replacing publisher's ads with its own and missteps surrounding its handling of Affiliate marketing, affiliate links and privacy vulnerabilities in its private browsing mode. 2008 California Proposition 8
Proposition 8, known informally as Prop 8, was a California ballot proposition and a constitutional amendment, state constitutional amendment intended to ban same-sex marriage. It passed in the California state elections, November 2008, November 2008 California state elections and was later overturned by the courts. The proposition was created by opponents of Same-sex marriage in California, same-sex marriage in advance of the California Supreme Court's May 2008 appeal ruling, ''In re Marriage Cases,'' which found the ban in 2000 on same-sex marriage (2000 California Proposition 22, Proposition 22) unconstitutional. Proposition 8 was ultimately ruled unconstitutional in 2010 by a federal court on different grounds, although the ruling did not go into effect until June 26, 2013, following the conclusion of appeals.
