Jaishankar
Jaishankar (12 July 1938 – 3 June 2000) was an Indian actor known for his work in Tamil cinema. He was a very popular lead actor in the 1960s and 70s. He was credited onscreen with title of ''Makkal Kalaingnar'' (people's artiste) or ''Makkal Thamizhan'' (people's Tamil) in most films starring him. He was also referred to as ''Thennakathu James Bond'' (South Indian James Bond) because of his roles in films such as ''Vallavan Oruvan'' and ''CID Shankar''. Biography Jaishankar, whose real name was Shankar hailed from Kumbakonam, but was born in Thirunelveli to parents Subramaniyan Iyer who was the Judge of Thirunelveli court and Yogambal on 12 July 1938. Jaishankar did his schooling in P.S. Higher Secondary School, Mylapore, and completed his graduation from The New College, Chennai, where he was awarded an honours degree. Murattu Kaalai (1980 Film)
''Murattu Kaalai'' () is a 1980 Indian Tamil-language action film directed by S. P. Muthuraman, and written by Panchu Arunachalam. The film stars Rajinikanth, Rati Agnihotri, Sumalatha and Jaishankar. It revolves around Kaalaiyan, an honourable villager who, despite being wealthy, chooses to live modestly while Sundaravelu, a less honourable man from the neighbouring village, tries to grab Kaalaiyan's land. ''Murattu Kaalai'' was the first film for Rajinikanth with AVM Productions, and the company's re-entry into Tamil cinema after a long sabbatical. ''Nootrukku Nooru'' () is a 1971 Indian Tamil-language psychological thriller film directed and written by K. Balachander. It stars Jaishankar and Lakshmi, with Jayakumari, Vijaya Lalitha and Srividya in other pivotal roles. ''Kuzhandaiyum Deivamum'' () is a 1965 Indian Tamil-language children's film directed by Krishnan–Panju. It is based on the American film '' The Parent Trap'' (1961) which in turn was based on Erich Kästner's 1949 German novel ''Lisa and Lottie'' (german: Das doppelte Lottchen). The New College ( ta, புதுக்கல்லூரி) is an institution of higher education in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Established in 1951, the institution is one of the affiliated colleges of the University of Madras, with autonomous status. Joseph Thaliath Jr. was an Indian film director and producer. Early life Hailing from a Christian family, he was the son of a High Court Judge in Thiruvananthapuram when it was known as Trivandrum in the Princely State of Travancore before independence. After completing his degree, he developed a flair for cinema and, much against his father's wishes, went to Madras (now Chennai) and worked as an assistant to a multi lingual film director called S. Soundararajan (S. Soundararaja Aiyengar, owner of the Tamil Nadu Talkies Laboratory.). Career F. Nagoor was an art director, film producer and a partner of Newtone studios in Chennai.
