Eizo Yamada
was a major general in the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II. Biography Yamada was born in Tokyo. He graduated from the Imperial Japanese Army Academy in 1911, and served as a lieutenant in the IJA 15th Engineering Battalion. He became an instructor at the Army Institute of Technology in 1925 and was promoted to major in 1928 and lieutenant colonel in 1933, and colonel in 1938. In 1939, he became commander of the Imperial Guards Engineering Battalion. Yamada was promoted to major general in October 1941 and assigned as Chief of the Ordnance Section, Eastern Army.
