Wendy Joan Matthews (born 13 January 1960) is a Canadian-born Australian singer-songwriter who has been a member of Models and Absent Friends and is a solo artist. She released Top 20 hit singles in the 1990s including " Token Angels", " Let's Kiss (Like Angels Do)", " The Day You Went Away" and " Friday's Child" with Top 20 albums, '' You've Always Got The Blues'' (duet album with Kate Ceberano), ''Émigré'', ''Lily'', '' The Witness Tree'' and her compilation, '' Stepping Stones''. She has won six Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Awards. According to rock music historian, Ian McFarlane she provides "extraordinary, crystal-clear vocals ..a soulfulness that was the mark of a truly gifted singer". ''Lily'' is the second solo studio album by Australian singer-songwriter Wendy Matthews released by rooArt in Australia on 28 September 1992 (see 1992 in music). Matthews travelled to Canada with her mother for the album to discover their heritage, which influences the album. Matthews states the album "overall, has vulnerability . . . t isreally heart on your sleeve stuff". The album won Matthews the ARIA Award for Best Female Artist at the ARIA Music Awards of 1993. It yielded four singles; "The Day You Went Away", " Friday's Child", "If Only I Could" and "T.K.O.". Abenaki People
The Abenaki (Abenaki: ''Wαpánahki'') are an Indigenous peoples of the Northeastern Woodlands of Canada and the United States. They are an Algonquian-speaking people and part of the Wabanaki Confederacy. The Eastern Abenaki language was predominantly spoken in Maine, while the Western Abenaki language was spoken in Quebec, Vermont, and New Hampshire. While Abenaki peoples have shared cultural traits, they did not historically have a centralized government. John (born 9 July 1956) is an Australian news presenter. Mangos has previously been a news presenter on Sky News Australia. He has also made cameo appearances on the Australian comedy programs ''Pizza (TV series), Pizza'', ''Swift and Shift Couriers'' and ''Housos''. Career Television began his career as a journalist for ''National Nine News'' in 1978 at the GTV 9 newsroom in Melbourne. Richard Champion
Richard Champion (born 14 April 1968 on Yorke Peninsula in Kadina, South Australia) is a former Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League (AFL) and South Australian National Football Leagues (SANFL). Originally from SANFL club Woodville, Champion was a high draft pick by the Brisbane Bears in 1988 VFL Draft, but he did not move to Brisbane until the 1991 AFL season. A solidly built and tough backman, Champion wore the number 1 guernsey for Brisbane and was a Bears stalwart through some of the club's darkest years, and he was a poster player in an era when the club had so few. It Takes Two (Australian TV Series)
''It Takes Two'' was an Australian music talent show, which ran for three seasons from May 2006 to April 2008. It was based on the original UK programme '' Just the Two of Us''. Concept The show paired celebrities with professional singers who each week competed against each other in a sing-off to impress a panel of judges and ultimately the viewing public in order to survive potential elimination. Through both telephone and SMS voting, viewers voted for the duo they thought should remain in the competition. Judges' scores were also taken into account and were combined with the viewer votes when determining which duos stayed and went each week. In all cases, the home viewers always had the final say.
