Tromsø lies in Northern Norway. The municipality is the 21st largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. With a population of 77,544, Tromsø is the 12th most populous municipality in Norway. The municipality's population density is and its population has increased by 12.2% over the previous 10-year period. The Tromsø Bridge ( no, Tromsøbrua) is a cantilever road bridge in the city of Tromsø which is located in Tromsø Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. It crosses the Tromsøysundet strait between Tromsdalen on the mainland and the island of Tromsøya. The bridge has 58 spans, of which the longest is with a maximum clearance to the sea of . or is an island in Tromsø Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. It lies in the Tromsøysundet strait between the mainland and the larger island of Kvaløya. The city of Tromsø is located on the island, which has 39,882 residents. The island is connected to the Tromsdalen area on the mainland to the east by the Tromsø Bridge and Tromsøysund Tunnel, and to the village of Kvaløysletta on Kvaløya island to the west by the Sandnessund Bridge. Tromsøysund Tunnel
The Tromsøysund Tunnel ( no, Tromsøysundtunnelen) is an undersea highway tunnel in Tromsø Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The tunnel runs under the Tromsøysundet strait, connecting the island of Tromsøya (and the city of Tromsø) with the mainland suburb of Tromsdalen. The tunnel is part of European route E08, (whose northern terminus is on the island itself) and it consists of two tubes, each with two driving lanes. The two tubes are not equal in length; one tube is long and the other is long. The lowest point in the tunnels is below sea level, and the maximum grade is 8.2%. The two tubes are linked by 15 service-tunnels. or (lit. "Whale Island") is an island in Tromsø Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. At , it is the fifth largest island in mainland Norway. Sandnessund Bridge ( no, Sandnessundbrua) is a cantilever road bridge that crosses the Sandnes Strait between the islands of Tromsøya and Kvaløya in Tromsø Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The Tromsø Bridge, the Tromsøysund Tunnel, and this bridge are the three road connections into the city of Tromsø on the island of Tromsøya. Polar Night
The polar night is a phenomenon where the nighttime lasts for more than 24 hours that occurs in the northernmost and southernmost regions of Earth. This occurs only inside the polar circles. The opposite phenomenon, the polar day, or midnight sun, occurs when the Sun remains above the horizon for more than 24 hours. "Night" is understood as the center of the Sun being below a free horizon.
