Tarnica
Tarnica is a peak in the Bieszczady Mountains in southern Poland. Its height is 1,346 metres. It is one of the Polish Crown Peaks. The summit towers 500 metres above the Wołosatka Valley. It can be easily told apart from its neighbours by its distinctive shape. The mountain has two separate summits, one of 1,339 and one of 1,346 metres. The southern part is a steep rocky wall, while the other side consist of less steep rocky fields. Bieszczady Mountains
Bieszczady Mountains ( pl, Bieszczady; sk, Beščady; uk, Бещади; hu, Besszádok) is a mountain range that runs from the extreme south-east of Poland and north-east of Slovakia through to western Ukraine. It forms the western part of the Eastern Beskids of the Outer Eastern Carpathians, Eastern Beskids ( pl, Beskidy Wschodnie; uk, Східні Бескиди), and is more generally part of the Outer Eastern Carpathians. The mountain range is situated between the Łupków Pass (640 m) and the Vyshkovskyi Pass (933 m). The highest peak of Bieszczady is Mt Pikui (1405 m) in Ukraine. The highest peak of the Polish part is Tarnica (1346 m). Term The term ''Bieszczady'' has been introduced into English from Polish. In Poland, the term usually refers (in the narrower sense) to the Polish part of the Bieszczady region, while in the wider sense it can also refer to the entire region. Polish Crown Peaks
Crown of Polish Mountains – a list of 28 peaks one per each of the mountain ranges of Poland. It was suggested by geographer, traveller and writer and dr Wojciech Lewandowski in the tourism and local lore magazine '. The list was on December 12, 1997 at a meeting convened by the editors of ''Know Your Country'' and at the same time the Club of the Conquerors of the Crown of Polish Mountains was inaugurated. The original idea was to be a list containing the highest peak of each range. However it was decided to consider only most prominent peaks which had a marked hiking trail at the time of the compiling of the list. In addition, the authors made several significant mistakes in the selection of peaks, e.g. by omitting some mountain ranges in the rank of a mesoregion, and placing others in the rank of a microregion. Subcarpathian Voivodeship or Subcarpathia Province (in pl, Województwo podkarpackie ) is a Voivodeships of Poland, voivodeship, or province, in the southeastern corner of Poland. Bieszczady National Park
Bieszczady National Park (; pl, Bieszczadzki Park Narodowy) is the third-largest national park in Poland, located in Subcarpathian Voivodeship in the extreme southeast corner of the country. In 2021, the national park became a UNESCO World Heritage Site (as an extension to the Ancient and Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians and Other Regions of Europe). Rymanów-Zdrój
Rymanów-Zdrój (; uk, Риманів-Здрій) is a village and a spa in southern Poland, in Subcarpathian Voivodeship, in Krosno County. Location Rymanów-Zdrój lies south of the town of Rymanów, in the valley of the river Tabor surrounded by low mountains. It is located in the heartland of the Doły (Pits), and its average altitude is above sea level, although there are some hills located within the confines of the city. History The source of mineral water was discovered in 1876. The popularity of the nearby spa, Iwonicz Zdrój, caused the owners of the Rymanów estate, Anna and Stanisław Potocki, to look for similar springs in the river valley. A chemist, Tytus Sławik, who was staying with them, analyzed the water in a spring and found a high concentration of iodine and iron. Wołosate ( uk, Волосате, ''Volosate'') is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Lutowiska, within Bieszczady County, Subcarpathian Voivodeship, in south-eastern Poland, close to the border with Ukraine. Cisna
Cisna ( uk, Тісна, ''Tisna'') is the main village of the Gmina Cisna in the Lesko County, in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship (province) of south-eastern Poland. It lies in the Solinka valley in between the Bieszczady mountains. History The village was founded in 1552 by the Bals family. Jacek Fredro founded a blacksmith company in Cisna that provided the area with agricultural instruments, pots and stoves. His son Aleksander Fredro, a famous Polish poet, playwright and writer, was born there. In the years between 1890 and 1895, a narrow gauge railroad was built to Nowy Łupków and in 1904 extended to Kalnica. In the interbellum, Cisna was one of the principal villages in the Bieszczady and was a well-known place to spend a holiday, growing to 60,000 inhabitants. Komańcza
Komańcza ( uk, Команча, ''Komancha'') is a village in the Sanok County, in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship (province) of south-eastern Poland. It is situated in the Bukowsko Upland mountains, located near the towns of Medzilaborce and Palota (in northeastern Slovakia). Takarnia is a peak in the Bukowica Range (part of the Pogórze Bukowskie ) in southern Poland. Its height is 778 meters. Iwonicz-Zdrój
Iwonicz-Zdrój (; uk, Іво́нич-Здруй), is a town in Poland, in Subcarpathian Voivodship, in Krosno County. It has 1,831 inhabitants (02.06.2009). Dukla
Dukla is a town and an eponymous municipality in southeastern Poland, in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship. As of December 2021, the town has a population of 2,017. The total area of the commune is . Dukla belongs to Lesser Poland, and until the Partitions of Poland it was part of Biecz County, Kraków Voivodeship.
