TAG Recordings
TAG Recordings was an imprint of Atlantic Records, created in 1994 to host Atlantic's stable of alternative rock artists and capitalize on the genre's popularity at that time. The roster consisted of artists already signed to Atlantic, such as The Lemonheads and Jawbox, and bolstered with new signings like Fountains of Wayne, Dinosaur Jr. bassist Mike Johnson, and The Bottle Rockets. TAG also released soundtrack CDs for two movies, '' White Man's Burden'' (1995) and '' I Shot Andy Warhol'' (1996). Despite wide acclaim for many of their releases, like Fountains of Wayne's self-titled debut or their reissue of The Bottle Rockets' ''The Brooklyn Side'', the imprint fared poorly in terms of sales. Jawbox's self-titled album, released in July 1996, was particularly disappointing, both critically and commercially. Fountains Of Wayne (album)
''Fountains of Wayne'' is the debut studio album by the American Rock music, rock band Fountains of Wayne. It was released on TAG Recordings, Scratchie Records, and Atlantic Records in 1996. Background College friends Chris Collingwood and Adam Schlesinger had formed two failing bands before reconvening in Manhattan, where Collingwood wrote future Fountains of Wayne songs "Joe Rey", "Leave the Biker" and "Radiation Vibe" in a half a day, then met with Schlesinger over drinks in order to start another band. According to Collingwood, "Basically, we started all this by writing a bunch of titles on bar napkins and trying to get the other guy to laugh. We'd get drunk and just sit there writing and laughing. We wound up with a list of hundreds of titles. Then we'd decide between the two of us who was going to take which song, and then meet the next night and see what we'd come up with." TAG Body Spray
TAG Body Spray was manufactured by TAG Fragrance Company, a subsidiary of Procter & Gamble. It was first released in 2005. From 2005 to 2007, TAG Fragrance Company was part of Global Gillette, until Gillette was bought out by Procter & Gamble and dissolved. In 2016, My Imports USA acquired the TAG brand from Procter & Gamble. My Imports USA plans to launch new TAG items in early 2017. History TAG is a re-incarnation of Right Guard Body Spray, released in 2002. Right Guard Body Spray was discontinued after several months due to very low sales. Gillette then spent the next few years trying to find how to successfully market a body spray for teenage boys. As a result of their research, TAG was released in the beginning of 2005. Jermaine Dupri Mauldin (born September 23, 1972) is an American rapper, songwriter, record producer, record executive, entrepreneur, and DJ. Early life Jermaine Dupri Mauldin was born on September 23, 1972, the son of Tina (Mosley) and Michael Mauldin, a Columbia Records executive. Dupri's promising musical career began before he was even 10 years old. Island Records is a multinational record label owned by Universal Music Group. Rusty is a Canadian alternative rock band formed in 1994 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The band earned a 1996 Juno Award nomination in the category Best Alternative Album for ''Fluke''. History Rusty's origins are in One Free Fall, a band from Wolfville, Nova Scotia who moved to Toronto in 1988. That band's core members were vocalist Ken MacNeil, guitarist Sandy Graham, bassist Jim Moore and drummer Bob Vespaziani. That band signed to independent label Handsome Boy Records, released the album ''Mud Creek'' in 1993 and collaborated with Art Bergmann on a cover of "Prisoners of Rock 'n Roll" for the Neil Young tribute album '' Borrowed Tunes: A Tribute to Neil Young'', but broke up in 1994 before achieving any notable success. Fuzzy was an American indie pop band based in Boston during the 1990s. The band was composed of singer-guitarists Hilken Mancini and Chris Toppin, and bassist Winston Braman. The drummer role was filled by David Ryan of Lemonheads for their first two records, and Nate Darden for ''Hurray For Everything''. The first Fuzzy release was the ''Fuzzy EP'', a CD of the band's demo recordings, released by Australian label Half a Cow. Dead Hot Workshop is an American Rock music, rock band (music), band based in Tempe, Arizona, Tempe, Arizona.
