Swiss Family Treehouse
Swiss Family Treehouse is a walk-through attraction featured at several Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, located at Magic Kingdom, Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Park in Disneyland Paris. The walk-through attraction is centered on a giant treehouse where everyone can hear and see various scenes based on the 1960 Disney film ''Swiss Family Robinson''. History The Swiss Family Treehouse opened November 18, 1962, in Adventureland at Disneyland, two years after the Disney film ''Swiss Family Robinson'' (1960). Imagineer Bill Martin worked out the treehouse's design; Disney animator Wolfgang Reitherman, who designed the treehouse for the movie, contributed. At tall and wide, constructed of concrete and reinforced steel, the attraction weighed 150 tons. Magic Kingdom Park, previously known as Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom (1971–1994) and The Magic Kingdom (1994–2017), is a theme park at the Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida, near Orlando, Florida. Wolfgang Reitherman
Wolfgang Reitherman (June 26, 1909 – May 22, 1985), also known and sometimes credited as Woolie Reitherman, was a German–American animator, director and producer and one of the " Nine Old Men" of core animators at Walt Disney Productions. He emerged as a key figure at Disney during the 1960s and 1970s, a transitionary period which saw the death of Walt Disney in 1966, with him serving as director and/or producer on eight consecutive Disney animated feature films from '' One Hundred and One Dalmatians'' (1961) through '' The Fox and the Hound'' (1981). An E ticket (officially an E coupon) was a type of admission ticket used at the Disneyland and Magic Kingdom theme parks before 1982, where it admitted the bearer to the newest, most advanced, or popular rides and attractions. It is now commonly used to describe a category of top tier and cutting edge theme park attractions. The term is especially common in describing Disney attractions of such a tier.
