Priscilla Shirer
Priscilla Shirer (born December 31, 1974) is an American author, motivational speaker, actress, and Christian media personality, and evangelist. Her father is Dallas mega-church pastor Tony Evans and her brother is musician Anthony Evans. Retrieved November 2016 Biography The daughter of Tony Evans, senior pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship Church in Dallas, Texas, Priscilla grew up well acquainted with the Bible. As a freshman at the University of Houston, she interned with a Christian radio station. Soon listeners were calling the station, inviting Priscilla to speak at their Bible study groups and other events. Soon she was invited to lead a weekly Bible study at the Zig Ziglar Corporation and then to join its speaker team. Priscilla has worked as an independent contractor for CBS and hosted a local television show, but recently she has focused solely on Christian ministry opportunities. Margaret Peoples Shirer
Margaret Peoples Shirer (1897 – September 25, 1983) was one of the first American Pentecostal Christian missionaries to West Africa. With little formal education, at she traveled to Burkina Faso in 1919 at the age of 22, with the support of the Assemblies of God. She became the first known person of European origin to learn the language of the Mossi people. She translated portions of the Bible into the Mossi language, Mooré, and used Mossi stories in her preaching. After marrying a fellow missionary, W. Lloyd Shirer, the couple became the first to open an Assemblies of God missions office in Ghana. Shirer learned the Dagbani language in Ghana and translated the biblical books of Matthew, Mark, Acts, Ephesians, 1 Peter into the language. Shirer also served as a missionary for the Assemblies of God in Nigeria.
