The House of Rossetti is an Italian noble, and Boyar Princely family appearing in the 14th-15th century, originating among the patrician families, during the Republic of Genoa, with branches of the family establishing themselves in the Kingdom of Austria, and France, and as boyars in Romania that gave Princes of Wallachia and Moldavia. The variants of the name are spelled Ruset, Rosset, Rossetti, of Byzantine and Italian origins. In Moldavia there are several branches of the Rosetti family named after their estates: Roznovanu, Solescu, Bălănescu, Răducanu, Ciortescu, Tescanu, and Bibica. The Rosetti family in Wallachia is a branch of the Moldavian family. Stephen Joseph Rossetti
Stephen Joseph Rossetti (born June 15, 1951) is an American Catholic priest, author, educator, licensed psychologist and expert on psychological and spiritual wellness issues for Catholic priests. He has appeared on such television shows as Meet the Press and Larry King Live. He served as president and CEO of Saint Luke Institute in Silver Spring, Maryland from 1996 to 2009 and as president from 2013 to 2014. In October, 2009 Rossetti stepped down from this position and in January 2010, joined the faculty of The Catholic University of America to teach in the School of Theology and Religious Studies. Since 2009, he has also served as the chaplain of the Washington Nationals. Carlo Rossetti, ca. 1654-1672. Carlo Rossetti (Roscetti) (1614 – 23 November 1681) was an Italian Catholic Cardinal, born of the noble Rossetti family in Ferrara. Earlier in his career he went to London as a secret nuncio on behalf of Pope Urban VIII. While in London, he was addressed as ''Lord Charles Rossetti'' and was referred to as ''Prince'' Rossetti, using his title as Italian nobility for his cover, rather than as a representative of the Roman Catholic Church to avoid persecution. Raffaele Rossetti (12 July 1881 – 24 December 1951) was an Italian engineer and military naval officer who sank the SMS Viribus Unitis, main battleship of the Austro-Hungarian Empire at the end of World War I. He was also a politician of the Italian Republican Party. Biography Born in Genoa, Raffaele Rossetti graduated as an engineer from the University of Turin in September 1904. Francesco Rossetti
Francesco Rossetti (Trento, 14 September 1833 – Padova, 20 April 1885) was a notable Italian experimental physicist. Biography Son of Giovanni Battista, Rossetti started his education in his natal town Trento. He then attended the University of Padova and, from 1854 to 1857, the University of Vienna, where he heard classes in mathematics, chemistry and physics, and graduated in physics and mathematics. His advisor was Andreas von Ettingshausen. Among his fellow students there were Josef Stefan (future supervisor of Ludwig Boltzmann) and Ernst Mach. In 1857 he became a teacher at the Liceo di Santa Caterina in Venice. In 1860 he was hired by the University of Padova. Gino Rossetti (; 7 November 1904 – 15 May 1992) was an Italian football Manager (association football), manager and former association football, footballer who played as a Forward (association football), forward. Biagio Rossetti ( 1447 – 1516) was an Italian architect and urbanist from Ferrara. A military engineer since 1483, and the ducal architect of Ercole I d'Este, in 1492 Rossetti was assigned the project of enlarging the city of Ferrara. Rossetti is considered the first architect in the history of urbanistics to make use of the advantages of the modern methods: balancing the humanistic principles in architecture, the real needs of the city, and local traditions. Reto Rossetti (11 April 1909 – 20 September 1994) was a poet and an Esperantist professor. He was Italian-Swiss and retained his nationality, although he lived all his life in Britain. His professional career as a teacher in art colleges culminated as Head of the art education department at Bristol university. His elder brother was Cezaro Rossetti, author of '' Kredu min, sinjorino!'' (''Believe me, Ma'am!''). He died at Gosport. Miracle Of The Jealous Husband
The ''Miracle of the Jealous Husband'' is a fresco by the Italian Renaissance master Titian, executed in 1511 as part of the decoration of the Scuola del Santo in Padua, northern Italy. It portrays a man stabbing his wife after she has been unjustly accused of adultery. When the man discovers the truth, he begs for pardon to St. Anthony, who resuscitates the woman (this scene is portrayed in smaller size on the right). The idyllic background is inspired by Giorgione's paintings.
