Rooster Teeth Productions, LLC is an American digital media company headquartered in Austin, Texas. Founded in 2003 by Burnie Burns, Matt Hullum, Geoff Ramsey, Jason Saldaña, Gus Sorola, and Joel Heyman, Rooster Teeth is a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Discovery Global Streaming & Interactive Entertainment, a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Discovery. Rooster Teeth began with the production of '' Red vs. Blue'', which premiered in April 2003 and is still in production, making it the third longest-running episodic web series of all time. Due to server and web hosting costs, the founders created "Sponsorships" which is now known as "FIRST", a subscription to exclusive and earlier access to content and discounts on their merchandise store, among other benefits. Apple Switch Ad Campaign
Switchers was an advertising campaign launched by Apple Computer, Inc. (now Apple Inc.) on June 10, 2002. It featured what the company referred to as "real people" who had "switched" from the Microsoft Windows platform to the Mac. An international television and print ad campaign directed users to a website where various "myths" about the Mac platform were "dispelled". The television commercials were directed by Errol Morris. Switchers A young woman who appeared in the commercials, Ellen Feiss, became an internet celebrity. Feiss was a friend of Morris's son Hamilton Morris, who also appeared in a commercial. Gustavo Raul "Gus" Sorola III (born February 22, 1978) is an American actor and podcast host. He is best known for his work with Rooster Teeth. Early life Sorola was born in Austin, and raised in Eagle Pass, Texas, near the Mexico–United States border. After choosing to drop out from Rice University, he started working at a tech support company, teleNetwork, where he met Rooster Teeth co-founders Burnie Burns and Geoff Ramsey. Career Sorola is a founding member of Rooster Teeth Productions. He is still currently employed at the company and appears in many of their productions. RTX is a series of annual gaming and Internet conventions created by Rooster Teeth held in Austin, Texas and for a period of time also Sydney and London, England. Starting as a small community gathering of 600 people in 2011, RTX significantly expanded in its following years, housing an estimated 62,000 people in 2017.
