In bluegrass music, a banjo roll or roll is a pattern played by the banjo that uses a repeating eighth-note arpeggio – a broken chord – that by subdividing the beat 'keeps time'. Aileron Roll
The aileron roll is an aerobatic maneuver in which an aircraft does a full 360° revolution about its longitudinal axis. When executed properly, there is no appreciable change in altitude and the aircraft exits the maneuver on the same heading as it entered. This is commonly one of the first maneuvers taught in basic aerobatics courses. The aileron roll is commonly confused with a barrel roll. Execution The aileron roll is commonly executed through the application of full aileron in one direction. In some lower powered general aviation and aerobatic training aircraft, prior to applying aileron input, the pilot must begin the maneuver by trading altitude for airspeed (i.e. diving). This helps achieve enough airspeed to complete the roll without losing rudder and aileron control. The minimum airspeed needed depends on the aircraft's design, but is generally about 120 to 200 knots. Idan Roll ( he, עִידָן רוֹל, born 27 April 1984) is an Israeli politician, model and lawyer. He is currently Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and was a member of the Knesset for Yesh Atid. Biography Roll was born in Jerusalem and moved to Mevaseret Zion as a child, attending Harel High School. He started his national service in the Israel Defense Forces in 2002, serving in the Israeli Intelligence Corps in a technology unit in central Israel, before completing an officer course and becoming cadet commander. Gernot Roll (9 April 193912 November 2020) was a German cinematographer, film director and script writer. He collaborated on several films with directors Edgar Reitz and Sönke Wortmann. George Roll is an American ice hockey coach. He was the head coach of the Clarkson Golden Knights from 2003 thru the end of the 2010-2011 season, leading them to their most recent conference championship and NCAA tournament appearance. Roll began his coaching career shortly after finishing his college career at Bowling Green where he was part of the 1984 National Championship team, becoming a graduate assistant for his alma mater before joining first-year coach Mark Morris's staff at Clarkson. Eric Roll, Baron Roll of Ipsden (born Erich Roll; 1 December 1907 – 30 March 2005) was a British academic economist, public servant and banker. He was made a life peer in 1977.
