Philipp Lahm
Philipp Lahm (; born 11 November 1983) is a German former professional footballer who played as a full-back. Considered by many to be one of the greatest full-backs of all time, Lahm was the captain of Bayern Munich, having led them to numerous honours including the 2013 UEFA Champions League as part of the Treble. He is also a former captain of his national team, which he led to win the 2014 FIFA World Cup, before retiring from international football. David P. Philipp is an American-born biologist known for his work on conservation genetics, reproductive ecology, and the effects of angling on fish populations. He is a conservation geneticist and Director of the Fisheries Genetics Lab at the Illinois Natural History Survey, an adjunct professor at the University of Illinois, and the Chair of the Fisheries Conservation Foundation. Philipp has supervised a number of graduate students including Steven J. Cooke, Cory Suski, Derek Aday, Jeff Koppelman, Jana Svec, Jimmy Ludden, Dale Burkett, Sascha Danylchuk and Jeff Stein. Adolf Philipp, also known as Adolph Philipp (January 29, 1864 – July 30, 1936), was a successful Broadway theatre, Broadway composer, writer, lyricist, director, and performer. He used the pseudonyms Jean Briquet and Paul Hervé as well as his own name. Biography Adolf Philipp was born in Hamburg, Germany. His early play, ''The Poor Nobleman'', ran for a thousand nights in Vienna, Austria, and was performed in major cities throughout Germany. He emigrated to the United States in 1889 and became an American citizen on June 2, 1898. He developed an interest in portraying German-American life. Oscar Israel Philipp (1882–1965) was a German-born metal trader who co-founded Philipp Brothers. Biography Oscar Philipp was born to an Orthodox Jewish family in Wandsbek, Germany. He was a cousin to Martha Bernays, the wife of Sigmund Freud. In 1901, his brother, Julius Philipp, founded a small metal trading company in Hamburg, where Oscar worked. In 1909, Oscar Philipp moved to London and established a metal trading company under the name of "Philipp Brothers". Julius continued to run the German operation out of Hamburg. He studied and later taught various instruments including organ, worked as a composer, directed a conservatory, and founded a school for organ, a chamber orchestra, an institute for church music, and a choir. Peter Philipp (16 July 1971 – 6 February 2014) was a German writer and comedian. Life and work Peter Philipp was born in 1971 in Düsseldorf in Northrhine-Westphalia. There he studied from 1992 to 2000 German literature and philosophy at the Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf. He published several books and founded the cabaret vocal ensemble ''Waschkraft'', as its chief songwriter, bassist, singer and master of ceremonies, he served since 2000. In 1998, the book ''Logisch-philosophische Untersuchungen'' was published by Walter de Gruyter. In 2000 Philipp published his first poetry book (Grupello publisher in Düsseldorf). Philipp Grubauer (born 25 November 1991) is a German professional ice hockey goaltender for the Seattle Kraken of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted by the Washington Capitals in the fourth round, 112th overall, of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Grubauer has played with the German national team in several international tournaments, including the 2008 U18 World Championships and the 2009 World Junior Championships. Grubauer won the Memorial Cup with the Ontario Hockey League (OHL)'s Windsor Spitfires in 2010. Grubauer won the Stanley Cup as a member of the Capitals in 2018. Philipp Bargfrede (born 3 March 1989) is a German professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Werder Bremen II. Career TuS Heeslingen Bargfrede joined the Heeslingen youth system at the age of 6, in 1995. He stayed with them until 2004.
