Peeps
Peeps are a marshmallow confection marketed since 1953 in the United States and Canada in the shape of chicks, bunnies and other animals as well as holiday shapes — by Pennsylvania-headquartered Just Born Quality Confections. Originally promoted primarily at Easter, Peeps have subsequently been marketed as "Always in Season", having expanded to Halloween, Christmas and Valentine's Day. Since 2014 the confection has been available year-round with the introduction of Peeps Minis. Peeps ingredients include sugar, corn syrup, gelatin, food dyes and salt. National Harbor
National Harbor is a census-designated place (CDP) in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States, located along the Potomac River near the Woodrow Wilson Bridge and just south of Washington, D.C. It originated as a multi-use waterfront development. Per the 2020 census, the population was 5,509. History Land use and rezoning The land developed for National Harbor was previously Salubria Plantation, built in 1827 by Dr. John H. Bayne. The plantation house burned down in 1981 and was offered for sale along with the surrounding land. The land was sold in 1984 and in 1994 was rezoned for mixed-use development. In the fall of 1997, the Maryland Department of the Environment and the Army Corps of Engineers approved new developer permits, granted for the PortAmerica project in 1988. Sam Born (September 10, 1891 – March 23, 1959) was an American Businessperson, businessman, Candy making, candy maker and inventor. Biography Born to a History of the Jews in Russia, Jewish family in Vinnytsia, Vinnitsia, Russian Empire (now Vinnytsia in Ukraine) under his original name Samuel Bernstein, they emigrated to the United States in December 1909; he sailed on the SS Merion, S/S ''Merion'' from Liverpool to Philadelphia; on the ship's passenger list, his occupation was listed as "candy maker".
