Owens Station, Delaware was a community in Delaware, U.S.A. History Owens station was a stop on the now defunct Queen Anne's Railroad line between Ellendale, Delaware, Ellendale and Greenwood, Delaware, Greenwood. After the railroad closed down and the tracks were removed, all property owned by the railroad was returned to its previous landowners and several small communities built around the stops disappeared. Some houses still exist from the town, at the intersection of Beach Highway and Owens Rd, but most of the former town has disappeared. The Owens Station Hunting Preserve takes its name from the former rail community. The remains of the settlement, now called simply Owens, is an Unincorporated area, unincorporated community located on Delaware Route 16 east of Greenwood, Delaware, Greenwood. Owens is a small unincorporated crossroads community at the intersection of Dahlgren Road, Windsor Drive, and Owens Drive in King George County, Virginia, United States. State Routes 206 and 218 meet at this intersection, with 206 going east towards U.S. Route 301 and Dahlgren, 218 going south towards US 301 and Colonial Beach and 206 and 218 joined together going west towards Arnolds Corner and Fredericksburg. The eastern part of the community is within the Dahlgren census-designated place. Owens comprises under a dozen houses and businesses along Dahlgren Road, including what was once Peyton's Market and the Owens Post Office, now an antiques store, as well as a small community of houses along Owens Drive, and the cemetery of Oakland Baptist Church which is on the western corner of Dahlgren Road and Windsor Drive. Monday Owens Wiwa (born 10 October 1957 in Bori, Nigeria) is a medical doctor and human rights activist. He is the brother of executed Ogoni leader Ken Saro-Wiwa, and the son of Ogoni chief Jim Wiwa. Wiwa is an internationally renowned expert on the effects of globalisation, especially as it relates to the highly controversial business practices of Royal Dutch Shell in the Niger Delta. Owens Brown is an American politician and activist serving as a member of the West Virginia Senate from the 1st district. He was appointed in September 2021, succeeding incumbent Democrat William Ihlenfeld, who retired to become the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of West Virginia. Upon his appointment, Brown became the first African American man to serve in the West Virginia Senate. Brown also became just the second Black member in the Senate after Marie Redd.
