Oaxaca
Oaxaca ( , also , , from nci, Huāxyacac ), officially the Free and Sovereign State of Oaxaca ( es, Estado Libre y Soberano de Oaxaca), is one of the 32 states that compose the Federative Entities of Mexico. It is divided into 570 municipalities, of which 418 (almost three quarters) are governed by the system of (customs and traditions) with recognized local forms of self-governance. Its capital city is Oaxaca de Juárez. Oaxaca is in southwestern Mexico. It is bordered by the states of Guerrero to the west, Puebla to the northwest, Veracruz to the north, and Chiapas to the east. To the south, Oaxaca has a significant coastline on the Pacific Ocean. The state is best known for its indigenous peoples and cultures. The most numerous and best known are the Zapotecs and the Mixtecs, but there are sixteen that are officially recognized. Oaxaca de Juárez (), also Oaxaca City or simply Oaxaca (Valley Zapotec languages, Zapotec: ''Ndua''), is the capital and largest city of the eponymous Administrative divisions of Mexico, Mexican state Oaxaca. Oaxaca is a state in Southwest Mexico that is divided into 570 municipalities, more than any other state. According to Article 113 of the state's constitution, the municipalities are grouped into 30 judicial and tax districts to facilitate the distribution of the state's revenues, although they may not currently function as per their intended purpose. Municipalities ('' municipios'' in Spanish) are the second-level administrative divisions of Mexico, where the first-level administrative division is the '' state'' (Spanish: estado). Alejandro Ismael Murat Hinojosa (born August 4, 1975) is a Mexican politician affiliated with the Institutional Revolutionary Party. He was elected Governor of Oaxaca in 2016 and took office on December 1, 2016. Life Murat Hinojosa was born on August 4, 1975 in the State of Mexico; his father, José Murat Casab, was also a PRI politician who served as governor of Oaxaca from 1998 to 2004. Susana Harp Iturribarria (born April 8, 1968) is a Mexican singer of traditional music. She currently serves as a senator in the LXIV Legislature of the Mexican Congress, representing the state of Oaxaca. Dios Nunca Muere ( en, God Never Dies) is a Mexican waltz written by composer and violinist Macedonio Alcalá in 1868. Is the ''de facto'' anthem of the state of Oaxaca. Dios Nunca Muere has been sung by famous singers like Pedro Infante and Javier Solís. There are two versions of the creation of this waltz. The first says that was composed when Macedonio Alcala and his wife went through a precarious economic situation and also the composer was at risk of dying, then his friend Roberto Maqueo, seeing their plight, left him without him noticing 12 pesos in silver. The other version says that some Indigenous people from a nearby village visited him to ask for a waltz for the patron of his people, and paid 12 pesos in silver.
