''Romeo and Juliet Get Married'' ( pt, O Casamento de Romeu e Julieta; ) is a 2005 Brazilian film directed by Bruno Barreto and starring Luana Piovani and Marco Ricca. The film is loosely based on the William Shakespeare play, ''Romeo and Juliet'', set in São Paulo amid two feuding soccer clubs, Palmeiras and Corinthians. Bruno Villela Barreto Borges (born 16 March 1955) is a Brazilian film director. Biography Born in Rio de Janeiro, Barreto has been making feature-length films ever since he was 17 years old and remains one of Brazil's most accomplished and popular directors to this day. The 1999 Intercontinental Cup was an association football match played on 30 November 1999 between Manchester United, winners of the 1998–99 UEFA Champions League, and Palmeiras, winners of the 1999 Copa Libertadores.
