Nickelodeon is a European pay television Television channel, channel available in Spain and Portugal and operated by Paramount Networks EMEAA. The channel is aimed at children and teenagers. History The channel was launched in Spain on 27 March 1999 as a localised variant of American kids channel Nickelodeon. On 1 June 2005, a feed of the Central European Nickelodeon channel was launched in Portugal with Portuguese audio with partial local ad breaks. On 1 September 2009, the Portuguese channel changed its source feed to Nickelodeon Spain. On 1 April 2010, Nickelodeon rebranded its graphical package with a new logo and new bumpers. On 22 November 2012, it changed its aspect ratio from 4:3 to 16:9. On 15 January 2015, an HD version of the Spanish feed of the channel was launched exclusively on satellite provider Canal+ (currently Movistar+) (available only in Spain). Minimax is a European pay television channel aimed at children, headquartered in Hungary, and broadcasting to 11 Central European countries. The channel was also broadcast in Spain from 1994 to 1998 and Poland from 1999 to 2004. Minimax's policy goals include edutainment and non-violent programs. As of 2018, the channel runs 24 hours a day. Previously, from 1995 though 2017, Minimax timeshared with Sportmanía, Musicmax, Game One, ITV Hungary, M+, Cool, Animax, and C8 over the years. The first legal television broadcasts in Andorra date back to the 1970s. Nickelodeon (often shortened to Nick) is an American pay television channel which launched on April 1, 1979, as the first cable channel for children. It is run by Paramount Global through its networks division's Kids and Family Group. Its programming is primarily aimed at children aged 2–17, along with a broader family audience through its program blocks. TeenNick is an American pay-TV channel that is operated by the Paramount Media Networks division of Paramount Global. Aimed primarily at teens and tweens, its programming includes a variety of live-action series inherited from sister channel Nickelodeon. The channel launched on September 28, 2009, as the merger between two defunct programming blocks which also targeted a teenage audience: TEENick on Nickelodeon and The N on Noggin.
