Max Papis
Massimiliano "Max" Papis (born 3 October 1969) is an Italian professional motorsport driver who has competed in several top-level motorsports events such as Le Mans 24 Hours, Formula One and Champ Car. He has three Champ Car victories. He is the son-in-law of Emerson Fittipaldi. Papis also currently drives in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series. Personal life Papis was born on 3 October 1969 in Como, Italy. He was raised in Italy and got an interest in car racing at a young age, winning several go-kart races and several rounds for racing clubs in Italy. He is married to Tatiana Papis, daughter of the racing driver Emerson Fittipaldi, and has two children, cousins of Pietro Fittipaldi and Enzo Fittipaldi. His sons' godfathers are fellow Italian Alex Zanardi (Marco) and British Dario Franchitti (Matteo). The Vankor 350 was a NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series race at Texas Motor Speedway. The 1999 race was 300 kilometers and the 2000 race was 400 kilometers, and became 350 kilometers in 2001. 1996 IndyCar Season
The 1996 PPG Indy Car World Series season, the eighteenth in the CART era of U.S. open-wheel racing, consisted of 16 races, beginning in Homestead, Florida on March 3 and concluding in Monterey, California on September 8. Rookie of the Year was Alex Zanardi. This was the first season after the split with the Indy Racing League and the last year that CART operated as "IndyCar," with the trademark reverting to Indianapolis Motor Speedway. 1999 Champ Car Season
The 1999 FedEx Championship Series season, the twenty-first in the CART era of U.S. open-wheel racing, consisted of 20 races, beginning in Homestead, Florida on March 21 and concluding in Fontana, California on October 31. The season was marred by the fatal accidents of Gonzalo Rodríguez during practice for the Laguna Seca round and Greg Moore during the Marlboro 500 in Fontana, in addition to countless injuries that took several drivers out of championship contention. Juan Pablo Montoya, in his first season at CART after two successful seasons in Formula 3000, won the championship in his first season, as well as Rookie of the Year honors, the second and final driver to win both awards in the same season, after Nigel Mansell in 1993. KV Racing Technology was an auto racing team that last competed in the IndyCar Series. The team was originally formed as PK Racing before the 2003 season by Australian businessman Kevin Kalkhoven and former Formula One team manager Craig Pollock from the remnants of the PacWest team. The team has also sponsored drivers in the Atlantic Championship. Fernández Racing was a Mexican motor racing team that competed in the American Le Mans Series, Champ Car, the IRL IndyCar Series, and the Rolex Sports Car Series. The team was co-founded by Adrian Fernández and Tom Anderson in 2001. Open wheel The team competed in the Champ Car ranks with Fernández and Shinji Nakano driving. In 2003 they downsized to one car, dropping Nakano, but scored their first victory at Portland International Raceway. Sigma Autosport was a CART Champ Car racing team that competed in 2001 and 2002. It was owned by former Toyota Atlantic driver Tom Wieringa. Sigma competed in the 2001 CART season with driver Oriol Servià. Servià finished 19th in points with two fifth-place finishes. In the off-season, Wieringa drove in a test himself on the Homestead-Miami Speedway road course. For the 2002 CART season, Sigma hired veteran Max Papis, who had recently been let go from Team Rahal. The team reportedly missed a payment to engine supplier Cosworth and was forced to miss a practice session at the Long Beach Grand Prix, the second race of the season. Kawartha Speedway
Kawartha Speedway is a 3/8 mile paved oval located in Fraserville, Ontario, approximately 10 km southwest of Peterborough. The paved track is within the harness racing track, temporary grandstands are brought onto the harness racing tracks surface. In 2006, Kawartha Speedway held the final CASCAR Super Series race before it became the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series in 2007. Since 2004, Kawartha was the host of the CASCAR Super Series finale. Kawartha Speedway held the finale of the inaugural NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Season which was won by Scott Steckly. The following year, Jason Hathaway picked up his first ever win, and in 2009 D. The 2012 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series season was the sixth season of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series taking place in the summer of 2012. The season composed of twelve races at eleven different venues. Seven of those events were contested on oval courses. Summary The sixth season consisted of 12 events spanning across 5 provinces featuring 12 events. New this season were the standardised rule changes for NASCAR's regional series matching that of the national series ( green-white-checker finish and points system).
