Major Sundarrajan
Srinivasan Sundarrajan (17 March 1925 – 28 February 2003), popularly known as Major Sundarrajan, was an Indian actor and director who performed predominantly in Tamil language films and plays. He was well known for his sophisticated and urbane way of delivering dialogues, often mixing English and Tamil sentences. Early life Sundarrajan was born on 17 March 1925 in a middle-class Brahmin family in Periyakulam, Madurai. His father Srinivasa Iyengar was a stage actor. Sundarrajan's first stint with acting came when he was in the sixth grade; at this point he was cast in a Hindi play of his school. He went on to act in numerous school and college plays. After graduating with a degree in science, Sundarrajan went to Madras (now Chennai), where his uncle Veeraraghavan was an amateur actor in the Triplicane Fine Arts theatre troupe. Pattinathar (1962 Film)
''Pattinathar'' is a 1962 Indian Tamil-language Hindu devotional film, directed by K. Somu, and written by Thanjai N. Ramaiah Dass and Akilan. The film stars T. M. Soundararajan, who played the title role and M. R. Radha, who played the antagonist. Plot The movie starts with a dream by a pious couple, where Lord Shiva appeared and told them that they would find a baby boy at a certain spot. They were to take that baby to Poompugaar (Kaveripoom pattinam) and hand over the baby boy to Thiruvengadar, also called Pattinatthar, (played by T. M. Soundararajan) and he would give gold equal to the weight of the baby to the pious couple. The saintly devotees found the baby and took him to Pattinatthar and his wife Sivakalai (Gemini K. Chandra). Gowtham Sundararajan
Gowtham Sundararajan is an Indian actor and choreographer who has worked on Tamil-language films and in television dramas. Career Gowtham Sundararajan was born to Tamil actor Major Sundarrajan and Shyamala in Madras, Tamil Nadu. He studied at Vivekananda College and graduated in 1989, before attempting to make a breakthrough in the film industry by appearing in item numbers, featuring in various projects including K. Balachander's '' Azhagan'' (1990). He married Kokila Hariram in September 1996. In 1998, along with his wife, he founded the Academy of Modern Dance, Chennai's first formal Western dance school. The pair also worked on choreographing for films, with their biggest venture being their first film, the Kamal Haasan-starrer '' Aalavandhan'' (2001). ''Major Chandrakanth'' is a 1966 Indian Tamil-language drama film produced by A. V. Meiyappan and directed by K. Balachander. Based on his play of the same name, the film stars Major Sundarrajan, Nagesh, R. Muthuraman, A. V. M. Rajan and Jayalalithaa. It revolves around a retired and blind major who gives asylum to a fugitive wanted for committing murder, unaware that the victim was his younger son.
