Mahinda Rajapaksa
Mahinda Rajapaksa ( si, මහින්ද රාජපක්ෂ, ta, மஹிந்த ராஜபக்ஷ; born Percy Mahendra Rajapaksa; 18 November 1945) is a Sri Lankan politician. He served as the President of Sri Lanka from 2005 to 2015; the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka from 2004 to 2005, 2018, and 2019 to 2022; the Leader of the Opposition from 2002 to 2004 and 2018 to 2019, and the Minister of Finance from 2005 to 2015 and 2019 to 2021. He has been a Member of Parliament (MP) for Kurunegala since 2015. Rajapaksa is a lawyer by profession and was first elected to the Parliament of Sri Lanka in 1970. He served as the leader of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party from 2005 to 2015. Rajapaksa was sworn in for his first six-year term as president on 19 November 2005. Kabir Hashim
Mohamed Hashim Mohamed Kabir ( Sinhala: කබීර් හෂීම්, Tamil: கபீர் ஹாசிம்; born 19 May 1959) popularly known as ''Kabir Hashim'' is a Sri Lankan politician and economist. He is a member of the Parliament of Sri Lanka representing the Kegalle District and is the Minister of Highways, Higher Education and Investment Promotion of the government of Sri Lanka. He was former General Secretary of the United National Party. He was educated at Royal College Colombo and Trinity College Kandy. Ranjit Atapattu
Ranjith Kanishka Parakrama Atapattu (29 April 1933 – 8 January 2018) was a Sri Lankan physician and politician. Biography Ranjith Kanishka Parakrama Atapattu was born 29 April 1933 in Tangalle, the son of Don Peter (Member of Parliament for Beliatta and Parliamentary Secretary to the Cabinet Minister of State). He was educated at Royal College Colombo and the University of Ceylon, between 1954 and 1960, where he obtained a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. Atapattu was employed as Medical Officer between 1960 and 1966, before establishing his own general medical practice. Beliatta electoral district was an electoral district of Sri Lanka between August 1947 and February 1989. The district was named after the town of Beliatta in Hambantota District, Southern Province. Nirupama Deepika Rajapaksa (born 13 April 1962) is a Sri Lankan politician, a former member of the Parliament of Sri Lanka and a former deputy minister. Alavi Moulana
Seyed Ahmed Seyed Alavi Moulana (1 January 1932 – 15 June 2016) was a Sri Lankan politician, who entered politics in 1948 as a trade unionist. He was the 5th Governor of Western Province, having assumed office on 1 February 2002. He was a member of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, Cabinet Minister of Labour, and a councillor in the Colombo Municipal Council. He was the Senior Vice-President of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and was also a social and religious worker. He also served as acting Governor for Sabaragamuwa in 2009. Mahinda Wijesekara
Mahinda Wijesekera is a Sri Lankan politician, former Fisheries cabinet minister and a former member of the Parliament of Sri Lanka. In 2001, Wijesekara left the President Chandrika Kumaratunga's ruling Sri Lanka Freedom Party and joined United National Party along with few other senior ministers of the government such as S. B. Dissanayake and G. L. Peiris. He was a member of the working committee of UNP and the party organiser for Weligama. Indika Gunawardena ( si, ඉන්දික ගුණවර්ධන; 8 February 1943 – 14 September 2015) was a Sri Lankan politician. Indika Gunawardena was born on 8 February 1943, the son of Philip Gunawardena and Kusumasiri née Amarasinghe.
