Position (vector)
In geometry , a POSITION or POSITION VECTOR, also known as LOCATION VECTOR or RADIUS VECTOR, is a Euclidean vector that represents the position of a point P in space in relation to an arbitrary reference origin O. Usually denoted X, R, or S, it corresponds to the straight-line distances along each axis from O to P: r = O P . {displaystyle {mathbf {r}}={overrightarrow {OP}}.} The term "position vector" is used mostly in the fields of differential geometry , mechanics and occasionally vector calculus . Frequently this is used in two-dimensional or three-dimensional space , but can be easily generalized to Euclidean spaces in any number of dimensions

Political Position
A POLITICAL SPECTRUM is a system of classifying different political positions upon one or more geometric axes that symbolize independent political dimensions. Most long-standing spectra include a right wing and left wing , which originally referred to seating arrangements in the French parliament after the Revolution (1789–1799). According to the simplest left–right axis, communism and socialism are usually regarded internationally as being on the left, whereas conservatism and capitalism are on the right. Liberalism can mean different things in different contexts, sometimes on the left (social liberalism ), sometimes within libertarianism (classical liberalism ). Those with an intermediate outlook are classified as centrists or moderates. Politics that rejects the conventional left–right spectrum is known as syncretic politics

Social Position
SOCIAL POSITION is the position of an individual in a given society and culture . A given position (for example, the occupation of priest ) may belong to many individuals. Social position influences social status . Social positions an individual may hold fall into the categories of occupation (medical doctor, academic lecturer), profession (member of associations and organisations), family (parent, sibling, etc.), hobby (member of various clubs and organisations), among others. An individual is likely to create a personal hierarchy of such positions, where one will be a central position while the rest are peripheral positions. Social positions are visible if they require an individual to wear a uniform or some other kind of identifying mark. Often individual clothes or other attributes will advertise what social position one has at the moment. Non-visible social positions are called hidden

There are two basic types of position: a long and a short. Generally speaking, long positions stand to gain from a rise of the price of the instrument and short positions from a fall (but with options the situation is more complicated). Options will be used in the following explanations. The same principle applies for futures and other securities

Positional Notation
POSITIONAL NOTATION or PLACE-VALUE NOTATION is a method of representing or encoding numbers . Positional notation
Positional notation
is distinguished from other notations (such as Roman numerals ) for its use of the same symbol for the different orders of magnitude (for example, the "ones place", "tens place", "hundreds place"). This greatly simplified arithmetic , leading to the rapid spread of the notation across the world. With the use of a radix point (decimal point in base-10), the notation can be extended to include fractions and the numeric expansions of real numbers . The Babylonian numeral system , base-60, was the first positional system developed, and its influence is present today in the way time and angles are counted in tallies related to 60, like 60 minutes in an hour, 360 degrees in a circle

Philosophical Theory
In the general sense, a PHILOSOPHICAL POSITION is a set of beliefs that explains or accounts for a general philosophy or specific branch of philosophy. The use of the term theory here is a statement of colloquial English and not reflective of the term theory . While any sort of thesis or opinion may be termed a position, in analytic philosophy it is thought best to reserve the word "theory" for systematic, comprehensive attempts to solve problems. OVERVIEWThe elements that comprise a philosophical position consist of statements which are believed to be true by the thinkers who accept them, and which may or may not be empirical . The sciences have a very clear idea of what a theory is; however in the arts such as philosophy, the definition is more hazy. Philosophical positions are not necessarily scientific theories , although they may consist of both empirical and non-empirical statements

Sex Position
A SEX POSITION is a position of the body that an individual or couple people may use for sexual intercourse or other sexual activities . Sexual acts are generally described by the positions the participants adopt in order to perform those acts. Though sexual intercourse generally involves penetration of the body of one person by another, sex positions commonly involve penetrative or non-penetrative sexual activities. Three categories of sexual intercourse are commonly practiced: vaginal intercourse (involving vaginal penetration), anal penetration , and oral sex (especially mouth-on-genital stimulation). Sex acts may also involve other forms of genital stimulation, such as solo or mutual masturbation , which may involve rubbing or penetration by the use of fingers or hands or by a device (sex toy ), such as a dildo or vibrator . The act may also involve anilingus

Much instruction, strategy, and reporting is organized by a set of individual player positions that is standard for the sport. Some player positions may be official, others unofficial. For example, baseball rules govern the pitcher by that name, but not the shortstop , where pitcher and shortstop are two of baseball's nine fielding positions

Position (poker)
POSITION in poker refers to the order in which players are seated around the table and the related poker strategy implications. Players who act first are in "early position"; players who act later are in "late position"; players who act in between are in "middle position". A player "has position" on opponents acting before him and is "out of position" to opponents acting after him. Because players act in clockwise order, a player "has position" on opponents seated to his right, except when
