List Of Fraternities And Sororities In Puerto Rico
This is a list of social fraternities and sororities in Puerto Rico. There are a number of service, professional, and honorary fraternities and sororities from the United States which have chapters in Puerto Rico. The following list is composed of Greek Letter social organizations founded in Puerto Rico, by Puerto Ricans. The large majority don't have chapters outside the island. An exception to this is those organizations that are members of the Concilio Interfraternitario Puertorriqueño de la Florida, the five fraternities that are members of the CIPFI are also members of the "Concilio Interfraternitario de Puerto Rico" along with the two oldest Puerto Rican sororities, those five fraternities and two sororities are considered as being the strongest. Phi Beta Gamma
Phi Beta Gamma () was a professional fraternity in the field of Law. History Phi Beta Gamma was founded on April 24, 1922 at Georgetown University School of Law. It was a founding member of the Professional Interfraternity Conference in 1928 and continued on to be a founding member of the Professional Fraternity Association from the merger of the PIC and PPA in 1978. List Of Latino Greek-letter Organizations
Latino Greek-letter organizations, in the North American student fraternity and sorority system, refer to general or social organizations oriented to students having a special interest in Latino culture and identity. The first known Latino fraternal organization was Alpha Zeta fraternity, established in 1889 at Cornell University. The current rise in Latino Greek organizations began in 1975 and is known as the Latino Greek Movement. This movement called for the equality of Latino people in America, and many Greek0letter organizations were developed to create solidarity and political empowerment for the Latino community.
