Junior Ryder Cup
The Junior Ryder Cup is a team golf competition between Europe and the United States for junior golfers aged 18 and under. It is based on the men's Ryder Cup and is run by the same organisations, the PGA of America and Ryder Cup Europe. The 2018 event took place at Golf Disneyland, Marne-la-Vallée, Paris, France on Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 September. The United States won 12–11, their sixth successive victory in the event. Format The teams consist of six boys and six girls. From 2008 to 2018 the tournament was played over two days of foursomes, fourball and singles matches. There were three boys' matches and three girls' foursomes matches and six mixed fourball matches on the first day. There were 12 singles matches on the second day, In 2023 the event will be extended to three days with foursomes and fourballs played on the first two days and the singles played on the final day. Marne-la-Vallée () is a new town located near Paris, France. Stuart Wilson (golfer)
Stuart Wilson (born 18 July 1977) is a Scottish amateur golfer. Wilson won the 2004 Amateur Championship at St Andrews Links. His win gave him an entry to the 2004 Open Championship where he was the only Amateur to make the cut, and so winning the Silver Medal as the leading Amateur. Wilson was the European Junior Ryder Cup captain in 2012 and 2014 and was the captain of the 2021 Walker Cup team. Wilson was the managing secretary at Forfar Golf Club for 15 years before taking up a similar position at The Blairgowrie Golf Club in January 2021. Straffan
Straffan (variously ''Teach Srafáin'', ''Strafáin'' or ''An Cluanini'' in Irish) is a village in County Kildare, Ireland, situated on the banks of the River Liffey, 25 km upstream of the Irish capital Dublin. The Kildare Hotel and Golf Club (abbreviated The K Club) is a golf and leisure complex in the Republic of Ireland, located at Straffan, County Kildare. It is built on the original grounds of the Straffan estate, incorporating the 1830s Straffan House, and was owned by Michael Smurfit. Celtic Manor Resort is a golf, spa and leisure hotel and resort in the city of Newport, South East Wales. Glen Eagles (Scottish Gaelic: Gleann na h-Eaglais/Gleann Eagas) is a glen which connects with Glen Devon to form a pass through the Ochil Hills of Perth and Kinross in Scotland.
