Eddy Jerman
Eddy Clifford Jerman (November 21, 1865 – September 13, 1936) was an American inventor and an early expert in the techniques of medical radiography. In the years that followed the discovery of X-rays, Jerman was one of the first people to focus on the details that created quality X-ray images, such as exposure and positioning. He served as an examiner during the initial efforts to license personnel who took X-rays. He has been referred to as "the father of radiography". Biography Jerman was born on November 21, 1865 in Ripley County, Indiana. He was the son of a physician. As a child, he became interested in the study of the batteries that powered his father's medical equipment. He attended Franklin College in Indiana, but experienced health problems in his last year and was unable to finish his studies. Andrej Jerman
Andrej "Jerry" Jerman, (born 30 September 1978), is a recently retired World Cup alpine ski racer from Slovenia. Born in Tržič, then in SFR Yugoslavia, Jerman specialized in the speed events of downhill and super G. He gained his first World Cup victory at Garmisch-Partenkirchen in February 2007 in a downhill, the first-ever for Slovenia. The next day he finished second, again in the downhill. Until then, his best World Cup result was fourth place in a downhill at Bormio, two months earlier. Jerman later gathered his second victory at Bormio, and finished his career with four World Cup podiums, all in downhill, and 27 top tens, with 18 in downhill. His best result in Super G was fourth, which came at Lake Louise in November 2007. Jerman represented Slovenia at three Winter Olympics and five World Championships. Cornelia Petty Jerman (December 1, 1874 – February 3, 1946) was an American suffragist and Democratic Party official, based in North Carolina. Early life and education Cornelia Petty was born near Carthage, North Carolina. Her parents were William Carey Petty and Emma Virginia Thagard Petty. Her father was a railroad executive. Wilson Roosevelt Jerman (January 21, 1929 – May 16, 2020) was an American butler who served 11 different U.S. presidents in the White House. He was one of the White House's longest serving employees. Biography Jerman was born in Seaboard, North Carolina, in 1929, the son of a farm worker. He dropped out of school at the age of 12 to work on a farm. In 1955, Jerman moved to Washington, D.C. and worked as a caterer before being hired as a cleaner by the White House in 1957 during the administration of Dwight D. Eisenhower. Jerman was promoted to butler under John F. Kennedy; Jackie Kennedy gave Jerman two signed paintings that he hung in his home. Marcos Luis Jerman (born 20 January 1957), also known as Marko Jerman, is a Slovenian stained glass artist and former Olympic cross-country skier. Life Jerman was born in San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina. After finishing secondary school he began studying art with the academic artist Juan Antonio Spotorno in Buenos Aires, afterwards with Rafael Roca in Bariloche. He began to plan, draw and set up stained glass windows in 1981, when he was apprentice of Sante Pizzol in Milan. In 1991, Marko Jerman, his wife Marjanka and their family moved to Slovenia. Aja Jerman Bukavec (born 20 August 1999) is a Slovenian rhythmic gymnast. Career Junior In the 2014 season, she competed at the World Cup Pesaro and World Cup Lisbon. At the International Tournament in Ljubljana, she won Hoop Final and helped her teammates winning a team gold medal. At the Slovenian National Championships she won All-Around gold medal and made it to the junior team, which competed at the 2014 European Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan.
