The imaginary (or social imaginary) is the set of Value (ethics), values, institutions, laws, and symbols through which people imagine their social whole. It is common to the members of a particular social group and the corresponding society. Imaginary time is a mathematical representation of time which appears in some approaches to special relativity and quantum mechanics. Imaginary friends (also known as pretend friends, invisible friends or made-up friends) are a psychological and social phenomenon where a friendship or other interpersonal relationship takes place in the imagination rather than physical reality.
