Guangdong Southern Tigers
Guangdong Hongyuan Southern Tigers () or Guangdong Southern Tigers, also known as Guangdong Dongguan Bank () for sponsorship reasons, are a Chinese professional basketball team owned by the Guangdong Winnerway (Hongyuan) Group. The team is one of the best-performing teams in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). The Tigers have won eleven CBA titles, more than any other team in the league. They are also the only team to have qualified for the CBA playoffs in every season since the league launched in 1995. The team plays its home games in Dongguan, Guangdong. Du Feng
Du Feng (; born July 30, 1981 in Ürümqi, Xinjiang) is a Chinese professional basketball coach and former player. He is the current head coach of China's national team and also head coach of his longtime club, the Guangdong Southern Tigers. At a height of 2.07 meters (6' 9"), and a weight of 100 kilograms (220 pounds), he played as a power forward-center. Playing career Professional Du was the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) Finals MVP in 2004 with the Guangdong Southern Tigers, a team based in Dongguan, Guangdong, where he completed his career and retired from competition at the close of the 2011-12 CBA season. Zhu Fangyu
Zhu Fangyu () is a former professional Chinese basketball player who spent his entire career with the Guangdong Southern Tigers in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). He was nicknamed the "Rain of Three-Pointers", due to his ability to sink three-pointers at crucial moments during games. Standing 2.01 meters (6'7") tall, and weighing 104 kilograms (230 pounds), he played the small forward position. Chinese Basketball Association
The Chinese Basketball Association (), often abbreviated as the CBA, is the first-tier professional men's basketball league in China. The league is commonly known by fans as the CBA, and this acronym is even used in Chinese on a regular basis. The CBA should not be confused with the National Basketball League (NBL), which is a professional minor league. There is also a Women's Chinese Basketball Association (WCBA). The center (C), or the centre, also known as the five or the pivot, is one of the five positions in a regulation basketball game. The center is normally the tallest player on the team, and often has a great deal of strength and body mass as well. In the NBA, the center is typically close to tall. The Zhejiang Guangsha Lions () are a Chinese professional basketball team based in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, which plays in the North Division of the Chinese Basketball Association. Guangsha is the name of the club's corporate sponsor, but to prevent confusion with the older Zhejiang Golden Bulls, many Chinese websites refer to the team as the ''Guangsha Lions''. Jiangsu Dragons Kentier (), also known as Jiangsu Dragons or Jiangsu Kentier, are a Chinese professional basketball team in the Southern Division of the Chinese Basketball Association, based in Nanjing, Jiangsu. The Guangzhou Loong Lions () are a Chinese professional basketball team based in Guangzhou, Guangdong. They play in the Southern Division of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). History The team was founded in November 2000 as Shaanxi Gaitianli Kylins by the Xi'an Dongsheng Group. In August 2001, they won the "B" league championship, and were promoted to the CBA. Shanghai Sharks
The Shanghai Sharks () are a Chinese Basketball Association team based in Shanghai. It is best known outside China as the club that developed Yao Ming before he entered the National Basketball Association. With Yao on the team, the Sharks made the finals for three seasons in a row (in 1999–2000, 2000–01, and 2001–02), facing the Bayi Rockets each time. They were runners-up the first two years, but won the CBA championship for the first time on their third try, snapping a string of six Bayi Rockets championships in a row.
